| Judy Bell
currently works as the Consulting Director of the USGA Grants
and Fellowship Program in Colorado Springs, Colo. She serves
as a resource of information, experience and ultimately a
facilitator of action due to her vast experience in the golf
world, the non-profit arena, and specifically within the USGA.
Bell became the first and only female USGA President in
1996-1997, and has served on various USGA committees since
1961. Currently, she is a charter member of the Grants
Committee.
An accomplished amateur golfer,
she began playing at age seven and has since amassed
an impressive collection of
awards and championships.
Bell also has been a part of four Curtis Cup teams, as
a player in 1960 and 1962, and
as captain in
1986 and 1988. Additionally, she captained the victorious
1998 U.S. Women’s World Amateur Team
and the 2000 U.S. Men’s World Amateur Team. In 2001,
Bell was awarded
the First Lady of Golf Award by the PGA of America. She
is a member of several Halls of Fame, including
the World Golf,
Colorado Sports, Colorado Springs, and National Black Golfers.
